Welcome!

My name is Megan Minno and I am a Gifted Learning Teacher in Denver, CO! From a young age, I have been passionate about education and supporting students holistically.

My journey began at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) for undergrad where I double majored in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. During this time, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to teach in Knysna, South Africa for 6 months – developing many of my educational philosophies. After graduating, I began my teaching career in Central Florida with some amazing Third Graders. Three years later, I decided to continue my education and attend University of South Florida where I received a Masters in Special Education: Gifted.

After finishing my masters, my husband and I decided to relocate to Denver, Colorado. Here I have been a gifted learning teacher at two different schools. Some of my favorite parts of my job include:

  • Working with gifted students to develop an Advanced Learning Plan each year consisting of academic and affective goals
  • Supporting 24 different teachers through co-planning and co-teaching to support differentiation within the classroom
  • Teaching critical thinking lessons in many classrooms to provide talent development for all students
  • Providing social emotional lessons to individual gifted students geared toward their needs and goals
  • Facilitating testing – consisting of cognitive screeners, academic assessments, and qualitative checklists
  • Developing and teaching PD school-wide for continued understanding of gifted characteristics, needs, and supports

I absolutely love my job and being able to support gifted students and their teachers. This past year, creating resources, has been incredibly fulfilling knowing that I am able to be a small part of many gifted students’ educational journey around the US.

I hope this page helps you, whether a teacher, parent, or student in better understanding gifted education. Because it is continually changing, I urge you to join the conversation!

X. Megan

Meet The Goldens!

Goldens (600 x 600 px)

I would not be Gifted with Goldens without my two goldens!

Luna Bella (4) – The older, wiser, and princess of the goldens. When we got her, I was still teaching 3rd grade and she was able to come to school with me as a puppy! She absolutely adores children and hopes one day she will have her own!

Leo (2) – The younger, sillier, and goofier of the puppies. Leo fills my bucket each day with his incredible cuddles and silly personality. He can play by himself with a ball for hours and is quite afraid of children (…pandemic dog). We love him for all he is!
